Preet Kaur Gill, MP for Birmingham Edgbaston has today (Tuesday 30th August) written to the Foreign Secretary regarding the devastating scenes coming out of Pakistan.
A third of Pakistan is under water; over 1,000 people have died; over 287,000 homes are destroyed; 719,000 livestock have died; and two million acres of cultivated crops have been wiped out. Yet, the Foreign Secretary is nowhere to be seen.
In her letter, Ms Gill calls on the Foreign Secretary to convene with international counterparts to coordinate and scale up a proportionate response to this crisis.
