27 October 2023: Preet Kaur Gill MP responds to Council's 30mph consultation

Almost weekly, Preet receives emails and calls from constituents about speeding and road safety across Edgbaston, and the wider West Midlands region.

As someone who often walks around the constituency, Preet has witnessed serious dangerous driving herself and recognises constituents' concerns.

For years, Preet has campaigned for the Local Authority to expand their average speed camera network, even taking the matter to the government through Written Parliamentary Questions. Preet continues to campaign for an expansion of the average speed camera network.

Meanwhile, Preet often asks for speed calming measures on certain roads when constituents contact her.

In Preet's response to the 30mph consultation, Preet welcomed the Council taking this step to hear from to residents. However, reducing speed limits must be accompanied with greater enforcement.

See Preet's full submission below.

If you have questions or concerns about road safety then please write to Preet on preet.gill.mp@parliament.uk or telephone 0121 392 8426.
