10 November 2023: Preet writes to Home Secretary about firework regulations

Communities across the United Kingdom, including in Birmingham, have suffered serious antisocial behaviour involving the misuse of fireworks.

Preet has taken the matter to the Home Secretary, seeking clarity over the Government's position position regarding the anti-social use of fireworks; whether it believes the laws regulating the sale of fireworks are adequate; and whether it is looking to reform the law, for example, to restrict the sale and use of fireworks to public displays or at main festivals.

Find Preet's letter in full below, or download a copy using the link provided. Also find the response Preet received below too.

If you have anything you would like to raise with Preet then please contact preet.gill.mp@parliament.uk or telephone 0121 392 8426.
