Save Bartley Green Library

The council is currently consulting on the future of Birmingham's libraries. The council has indicated that its preferred proposals for the libraries in this constituency are to keep Quinton Library fully operational, relocate Harborne Library or reduce its operating hours and to have Bartley Green Library run and funded by community partners.

I am fighting to save all the libraries in my constituency. I want to ensure that each library service operates in a way that serves the communities that use them.

I am actively exploring alternative options that could help secure the the future of our libraries. For Bartley Green, I am establishing a Friends of the Library group—a voluntary organisation made up of local residents who would take an active role in supporting and running the library. This model has been successful in other areas and could provide a sustainable way to keep the library viable for the long term, while ensuring it continues to serve as a vital hub for our community.
